Beating some people killing free time, and a bunch of randoms on one side, vs a sweaty clan on the other isn't very competetive. Proves nothing in my eyes that you won anything other than beating an easy lobby of Randys. Now if there was a seperate, more specific matchmaking FOR clan wars, similar to like Ranked Play. Where clans actually fight amongst other sweaty clans, then THAT is worth the fight and rewards! I believe there even should be penalties for clans who back out of a match half way if they are looking like they are losing. It's clan wars, not clan invasions.Sorry if many of you do not agree with me, but this is how i feel Clan Wars should be fought!
Feel free to add your suggestions also!. This is the most reasonable compromise. They'd have to drastically change the way clan wars work if it's all dumped into a playlist. The player count would probably be stretched pretty thin across the different modes and the randomness of mosh pit playlists would make it difficult to execute any sort of strategy for taking nodes.I think Beachhead started to get in a groove with the clan raids but most of them are way too difficult for casual players to enjoy. My two friends and I did two of them, there's one left that we know we could complete, but all of the others are impossible for us. They should add a bunch more, dial back the difficulty for some of them so there are enough in that 'challenging but doable' range, and bring back the clan ops/challenges.I'd like to see the raids involve more than just wins. It'd be cool to see some that had other objectives mixed in, like 'get 300 heavy weapon kills, 50 headshots, win 10 games of Domination, 25 backstabber medals, capture 5 enemy flags in x amount of time' so that the whole team can be contributing to different tasks and losses aren't devastating.
It'd also probably reduce the number of quitters since so many of those things can still be done in games that can't be won. Those example figures would obviously require some tweaking and scaling for different numbers of participants but you get the picture. Something to note, though: Clans are groups of regular CoD players.
Most play CoD outside of Clan Wars, often with full parties, and they usually try to win/stomp the other team just the same. CW's just mean more of them happen to be online at the same time, and have a higher chance of being in particular playlists. The better solution, IMO, is for there to be a Mercenary playlist; that way, the people who really want to avoid facing clans and 6-man parties can do so at all times, not just for a few hours every few weeks (when Clan members would be in their own playlist, but only for that time).
You can both be right. Beachhead has remained unimaginative and clan wars has turned into a hackneyed joke on the CoD community. The app (while better) is still a piece of shit that had no mind for design. That said, my clan plays in every one of the wars, but that's just to ensure all of our guys get each piece of gear.Additionally, Activision has been stupid enough to continue paying Beachhead to drop a half-assed meta game on top of CoD which has really kind of fucked things up for the casual player. There really needs to be three tiers of play: Casual (sort of mercenary, but parties can play here), Clan competitive (a sort of ranked play for clans, solo ranked play would be a no-go, that would help prevent individuals from dropping out), and Diamond/Pro division where groups play by esports rules and can pretend they are real CoD pros against each other. The key problem to this approach would be that the last two CoDs have been pretty shitty.
Black Ops 3
Player counts have diminished. This would result in too fine a segmentation of the playerbase and make finding lobbies pretty difficult. The game needs to stop trying to mix all of these groups into a pot and call it gumbo, it doesn't work.Allowing people to select the experience they want will bring much more enjoyment to the player and give them the ability to choose their level of competition.
SBMM here would be much easier to implement.IMHO, this would result in meeting the needs of the various segments that make demands on CoD, while also ensuring more folks can have fun with it. I think I said esports would be its own. It's where the clans move more toward a more pro-style of play. It would build in a solid feeder system to the pro community and inspire the try-hards to try hard in a more ideal place. Ghosts had its esports mode, and it didn't screw up an already underwhelming player count.Clan wars would take place in the clan competitive arenas. People could get gear to dress up their doll based on where they succeeded and show off their swag for being a CoD superstar.Meanwhile the regular arenas would be fun again and people could run around with knives and executioners again and have a good time doing it.
